Peace of Mind for the Film Investor…

A post on the business side of things. The above words are not exactly familiar to too many Film Investors. However, as Independent Filmmakers we are of the opinion we should go as far as we possibly can to provide as much of this to our Investment Group as possible. What we have is – in a word – revolutionary and thanks go to Executive Producer Bill Rebane. Bill is a veritable encyclopedia of knowledge (don’t miss his Wikipedia page) learned through experience when it comes to making money via Independent Film. He wrote the book – literally. Let’s be honest – making money via motion pictures is a risky business. Always has been. Always will be. There’s no getting around that. Any type of venture capital enterprise contains certain inherent risks...

No – we haven’t vanished or been abducted by aliens (yet!)! No – just been deep in the trenches working on projects and putting others together, namely one SCORCHED EARTH:The Other Side of World War II feature film by name. Some real impressive advancements  as of late. It’s an ambitious project to be sure but then again, why play small ball? Life’s too short. All of us only have one go around on this earth, why not go for the gold? Let someone else settle for the bronze. As you can see, some impressive attachments already, there are some others we can’t divulge at this point but will do so when possible. Nailed down is a complete & prepared budget, vetted & well-seasoned production group, locale, reenactment groups, & armored vehicles...

Woah!!! How time gets away – far too long between blog posts!!! Our sincerest apologies but we’ve been going from one project to another without interruption. Since then, our very own Robert E. Wilhelm has appeared in several shorts as well as working with the legendary Russ Woody on a special performance of his new pilot Deleria. He’s also slated to shoot some pick-ups on his latest indie feature Candid Carmen & Co., directed by Noé Obregon Escobar. It’s a rollicking, comedy/drama about the pits and pratfalls of a street theatre group in L.A. Also stars Katy Bodenhamer,  Alejandra Morin,  Lissette Feliciano León, Jesse Pimentel, Jovanna Nicole, and Takaaki Hirakawa...

Whoa! – What happened to Summer 2015!!!??? Boy that went lighting fast!!! We’re way overdue for a blog post and things are taking off so here we go…

Ladies & Gentlemen, we live in exciting times, to wit:

Big – B-I-G NEWS : THE MARSCHER LORDS:Brotherhood or Death is now a full length feature film!!! New Executive Producer came onboard who absolutely LOVES the entire concept as well as the script and sees it as a full length feature film instead of a short (well, in the interests of full disclosure so did we!!!). Dearest thanks go to Project Manager Adela Taylor for putting together the Project Book to that made it – as it is – eminently unique and ultimately unforgettable!!! Add to this we proudly announce the addition of our cast member – Yul Spencer – AKA “KOOL YUL” – to the production.

Hoo-rah!!! A new year brings new opportunities!!! We’re moving right along with Masters of War: Soldiers of Distinction. Thanks to the efforts of our relentless & exceptional Executive Producer – Mo Fitzgibbon – of WalkerFitzgibbon.com & she’s fresh from working with the always effervescent Gloria Estefan – we’ve got a major agency looking on packaging the entire series since it’s expected over at a major production company. More on this as it develops.

Our sincerest apologies for the tardiness of this post, but we’ve had our hands full with finishing other projects, auditions, & both THE MARSCHER LORDS: Brotherhood or Death & MASTERS OF WAR: Soldiers of Distinction. With Veteran Producer Mo Fitzgibbon, we were able to take AFM 2014 by storm!!! Good things in the mix! Really good things!!! Can’t elaborate any more than that at the moment, so stay tuned. One thing we can say is that these projects have LEGS!!!  And another heartfelt thank you to her husband & partner Robert Walker who’s graphic design & editing helped push the MASTERS OF WAR sizzle reel over the top!

It’s Official!!! – Major Recording Artist Drew Tretick Joins THE MARSCHER LORDS:Brotherhood or Death Production Team as Composer/Scorer!!!

Drew Tretick brings a veritable wealth of experience & knowledge to this production; a true virtuoso at the tender age of five, later – in his teens -recognized as a Presidential Scholar of the Arts & accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School of Music in New York City. He has recorded on soundtracks for major motion pictures & appeared on both television & radio networks including ABC, NBC, ESPN, & PBS. His experience recording & performing with such legends as Tony Bennett, Stevie Wonder, Chris Isaak, Glenn Campbell, Ivan Gancedo, John Denver, the legendary Doc Serverinsen, the London Symphony Orchestra, & the Slovak National Orchestra...

Serendipity Happens!!!

Fresh from THE MARSCHER LORDS:Brotherhood or Death Promo Video Shoot, our very own R. E. Wilhelm III is off later this week to shoot Barker Daniels, a family saga directed by Mike “Moose” Moutsatsos & produced by Fred Durst (formerly of Limp Bizkit) & Mark W. Curran‘s signature feature Abandoned Dead. Lenser Extraordinaire David Hansen-Sturm is finishing up some projects this week to get into the editing booth to hammer out THE MARSCHER LORDS: Brotherhood or Death Promo Video. There’s also been movement on the scoring front for both THE MARSCHER LORDS:Brotherhood or Death Promo Video as well as the film itself – Serendipity Happens: talks are initial at this point, but there is a major recording artist, a graduate of the famed Juilliard School of Music in New York ...

To have a great film you’ve got to have a great story. Like Lennon-McCartney, the two go hand-in-hand: Mutiny on the Bounty, Gone With the Wind, Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo, Casablanca, The Hustler, Damn the Defiant, Lawrence of Arabia, Zulu, The Magnificent Seven (h/t to Akira Kurosawa), Lord Jim, The Great Escape, & The Wild Bunch , just to name a few (a very incomplete list to be sure!)  Anymore – too oft for comfort – stories seem to be tossed into the WC in favor of (or lack thereof compensated with) F/X. Don’t get us wrong: there’s nothing better than terrific F/X – what would Star Wars be without it (ok – basically a Western) but still with a great story!!! Sometimes great stories come in the form of the creator’s mind (as with Star Wars for example)...
