‘It’s Not Just a Movie, but a Movement…’

Chivalry. Honor. Duty. Gallantry.

Those words may be a bit foreign to some in today’s modern, fast-paced, teckie-type world, but to knights of the Teutonic Order, Knights Templar, & the Livonian Order, they were sacred words by which to live and die. Die schwerpunkt, or “point of main effort”, was to protect the what was considered at the time defenseless (see below) making the pilgrimage to the Holy Land. It was for this that they were founded. The Teutonic Order’s castle still stands today at Acre, on the peninsula in the Gulf of Haifa. Amazing, since it’s been fought over and around about six times since the First Crusade in 1104.

‘It’s Not Just a Movie, but a Movement…’

Chivalry. Honor. Duty. Gallantry.

But these principles by which they lived can inspire us today. Look around you. What do you see in today’s world? Do you see people looking out on a daily basis for others or are people retreating into their own little private enclaves with their electronic devices? The intent here is not to preach but to simply observe a simple facet of today’s modern society: focus has been turned inward – on the self – rather than outward – on others. This would/could never happen to a knight of any of the aforementioned Orders. It would be anathema to them and wholly against their creed.  Perhaps a good “by-product” if you will of a project like THE MARSCHER LORDS:Brotherhood or Death is to stir people and help them realize that life isn’t about being self-absorbed 24/7. Looking out for & helping others has been a strong – particularly – Christian trait since Biblical times. Remember the motto of the Teutonic Order:  “Helfen*Wehren*Heilen” (Help*Defend*Heal). This is why we seek to help charities with this project: the Teutonic Order & the Order of St. Constantius (of which Sir Brick Price – Executive Production Design – is a member). We tweet out “Rediscover Chivalry” often, as it is something that seems to have fallen by the wayside.

It doesn’t have to be so:

The Knight’s Code of Chivalry was a moral and honorable system that stated all knights should protect others who can not protect themselves, such as widows, children, and elders. All knights needed to have the strength and skills to fight wars in the Middle Ages; they not only had to be strong but they were also extremely disciplined and were expected to use their power to protect the weak and defenseless.

So with this project we’re hoping to instill & inspire & reawaken the chivalrous nature in all of us, particularly men. Always working for the betterment of humanity is a good thin, n’est pas? That is what we’re hoping to do with THE MARSCHER LORDS:Brotherhood or Death both in the short film (which will act as a trailer for a subsequent feature). But we’ve got a ways to go on the pledge level. C’mon folks, we can’t produce this on air. Please come onboard with a pledge, as – previously stated – if each one of our Likers on Facebook pledged $25 (the lowest level btw) we’d be way up over our goal of $70,000!!! That would mean a nice size charitable donation both to the Teutonic Order & the Order of St. Constantius!!! ‘Help*Defend*Heal. Click on the link above & pledge today!!!!!

Our fellow partner-in-crime, Edwin H Bravo – portraying adopted son Petrus von Marscher in THE MARSCHER LORDS:Brotherhood or Death continues his work on Harbinger Down with the legendary Lance Henriksen. From the pics – it looks like the project is coming along swimmingly. Set out in the Barents Sea, it concerns a fishing vessel that comes up with possibly the deadliest catch of all. Make sure you visit the special online movie set here. Ck it out! Looking great Edwin! But how about some more pics of you on set? Eagerly looking forward to the finished product!
