Sneaky Pete & Santa Steals Dogs?

Category: Production Blog Comments: No comments

Woah!!! Long overdue for a post here, but much has been happening. Deep in the weeds working on  making things happen. As all indie filmmakers know, you have to wear many, many hats while you’re bringing a project together. While still hip-deep in the machinations to launch SCORCHED EARTH:The Other Side of World War II off the ground, we’ve been acting in other projects.  Both Edwin H. Bravo & Robert E. Wilhelm have been rather busy as of late, Edwin has been busting it in several episodes of Sneaky Pete, and Wilhelm (new website link!) premiered in the AllDefDigital YouTube Red Series Pilot Snap! as well as the new Christmas family film Santa Stole Our Dog: A Merry Doggone Christmas helmed by the veteran Bryan Michael Stoller, where the masterful Edward Asner turns in a tour-de-force role as Santa stunned that a family’s dog has stowed away in his pack! Thus leads to a mad scramble to find his true home.  Stoller excels in family films which normally star his beloved Little Bear, who’s illustrious career has seen him portray both First Dog of the White House as well as being the Wizard of Paws. Little Bear‘s friend Teddie Wilhelm made his screen debut as well, you can see him in the scene in the Dog Pound, and being very vocal about his displeasure at his surroundings!!! Bryan’s working on distribution now, and it will be released in time for The Holidays so stay tuned!!!

Bravo & Wilhelm have a storied history together, been friends for many years & share the same agent: the venerable Michael Mogan of Mogan Entertainment . Wilhelm just recently inked with the renowned Manager Tsu Tsu Unlimited of NYC.

News on the SCORCHED EARTH:The Other Side of World War II” front, the vetted Production Company Red Entertainment Group (of Baton Rouge, LA) is now onboard. Jarred Coates – owner/operator – is one of the finest paisanos around. Really knows his stuff. Combined with a stellar DP of off-the-charts projects and some of the Academy Award-nominated staff assembled for THE MARSCHER LORDS: Brotherhood or Death, it’s shaping up to really be something. Budget, Production Schedule, & Pitch Book all complete. If you’re looking into making your mark in motion pictures and imprinting your legacy forevermore, contact us here to review.

It should be noted, a short film script has been completed from the story of SCORCHED EARTH:The Other Side of World War II; it was borne out of the desire of the Director Christian Pichler to have a “Calling Card” to show potential investors. As you fellow indies know, it can make all the difference! We’re moving forward with both! Largely, it is the backstory to the feature film script. Again – we’re breaking new ground with fresh ideas. ;<)

It probably should be noted here (as it has been in the trades) that overall Box Office is off, about 12% less than last year. You see what’s in the cineplexes – excited? New blood & new ideas are long overdue. Entertainment was founded on escapism. Filmmaking is – at its base – nothing more than visual storytelling. It all starts with the story. Somehow in the scheme of things that has become lost. An endless cycle of remakes/reboots/recycles of things audiences have already seen ad nauseum and filling it up with CGI can not/will not turn things around.

That’s where our mission as Indies lies. We need to break new ground and get things going. That’s our mission. Please join us!!! We can partner together in so many ways; on our projects, on yours, on developing and breaking new ground.

Stay tuned. More to come.

As Always,

Heinrich II von Tunna Shield
