Christmas Time is Here!!! & Random Musings…IMG_20131127_093003-1

As heretofore stated, all QuarterDeck Production Corp projects have already been formed as their own individual corporations by our wonderful CFO Ruby Emerald Diamond. We have budgets for all but are in the process of tailoring a few of them since each one is unique in its own right. Looking forward to what Sir Brick Price can do not only on  Scorched Earth: The Other Side of World War II  but also for  All the Iron Men :  Welcome to Heaven Boys,  We’ve already Served Our Time in Hell.   And then there’s  Order of the Valiant:  The Supreme Test of Courage Lay One Step Away from Heaven …but let’s get through the others first! As you know – first up – is either THE MARSCHER LORDS:BROTHERHOOD OR DEATH  or  Masters of War: Soldiers of Distinction  which our  Editor  Emeritus  Evan Campbell – who works a lot with our Mo Fitzgibbon @ WalkerFitzgibbon – is cutting together now as I write this ( how’s it going with those scissors, Evan? ) he’s been txting me this a.m. “It will be awesome! That I can guarantee!” Evan’s previous work bespeaks for itself. I’m sure it will come in well above average. So look for that to be posted on the QuarterDeck site later this week. Will post on the “Videos” page ( well, D’uh! ) Everybody’s a comedian [icon icon=icon-smile size=14px color=#0000FF ]

Tailoring the budget now for  Scorched Earth: The Other Side of World War II . Later this month will be out at a tank farm outside of Manassas, VA to scout both vehicles & locations for the trailer shoot. Fortuitously, our contact there also has grounds upon which we can shoot.  Ausgezeichnet !!!  A one-stop shop is always easier than having to run all over town ( or the country , as the case may be ).  Also speaking with a film group in the Midwest about SE. ” Midwest! What’s there? ” Oh, just maybe the topography very similar to that of the Ukraine, which is where SE takes place. Stay tuned.

Who said making movies wasn’t fun!?

Christmas Time is Here!!! & Random Musings…

THE MARSCHER LORDS:Brotherhood or Death  Facebook page continues to grow in popularity. As of this writing, 1,126 likes!!! By the time the Indiegogo.com page is ready to launch on Jan 15, 2014, we should be up near 2,000. That’s a pretty good base from which to start operations.

Getting into the Christmas Spirit as yet? Yes,  Ja , &  Da …it’s overcommercialized, yes they try to start it just about at Halloween but, ahh well…Andy Williams had it right.  Family get togethers, Holiday parties, Holiday cheer…the colors, sights & sounds. Methinks it doesn’t get any better a time of year than this. Many important events in Military History happened during the month of December: the 7th is of course Pearl Harbor Day; then on Dec 8, 1941 the U.S. declared war on Japan and the same day Japan invaded Burma & Malaya; Dec 13th, 1862 the Battle of Fredericksburg began; on Dec 16th, 1944 Hitler’s last gasp offensive in the Ardennes led to what became known as ” The Battle of the Bulge” began. Ran across an excellent column by the Hoover Institution Journal, “Why Should We Study War?“, because – quoting author Bruce Thornton here –

Military History tells the story of human nature at great heights and terrible lows.

It also provides for incredible leaps in technology. Paraphrasing Lothar Gunther-Buchheim, author of the incomparable  Das Boot , ” nothing like war to figure out new ways to wipe out the other guy. ” If you’ve never read  Das  Boot , do yourself a big favor & pick up a copy. It’s so real you can smell diesel oil & the mold in the bilge.

Hey! – how ’bout in honor of Burl Ives, you get some “Silver & Gold” in here!!!…” [icon icon=icon-smile size=14px color=#000 ]
